The wait is over, and the learning has begun! Our 42nd Global Professional HR Certification program has commenced, and we’re excited to see our new cohort of HR professionals dive into the latest insights, trends, and best practices in the field. Building on the success of our previous cohorts, we’re excited to welcome a new group of 290 talented and dedicated HR professionals from diverse sectors. Our 42nd cohort commenced on March 8th for in-person attendees and March 9th for online participants, marking the beginning of an exciting journey of learning and growth.
Pearl P. Tehoda, Executive Director of the centre in her welcome address expressed her excitement to have them join us as we embark on this exciting journey of learning and growth. She then took them through a well detailed orientation of the whole program which gave the candidates a clear view of what to expect during their stay with the centre.
Dr. Jeff Bassay, the founder of the HR Certification welcomed the new cohort with a thought-provoking inaugural lecture, emphasizing the importance of strategic HR in driving business success. He shared valuable insights, including the importance of procedure being as important as substance, and how experience is not just about longevity, but about the occurrence of events and our reactions to them. He also cautioned that imposed changes are often met with resistance, and that the human mind is naturally averse to change. He also highlighted the common pitfalls of strategy execution, including lack of leadership, motivation, employee buy-in, compensation, benefits, skills, and resources.
He stressed the importance of strategic HR in driving business success, which involves understanding customer preferences and service delivery, re-engineering business for industry competition, operating departments and external stakeholders effectively, and complying with state laws and regulations. By mastering these critical areas, HR professionals can add value through people strategy, provide leadership for change and growth, and ensure compliance with labor regulations.
