The HR Certification Centre is proud to announce the conclusion of Cohort 17 of our free flagship HR Mentorship Program!
Over the past 12 weeks, our mentees have engaged in intensive learning, professional development, and strategic skill-building. Out of 333 applicants, 177 participants were enrolled, with over 100 dedicated mentees completing the journey. Designed to bridge the gap between academic theory and practical execution, the program combined technical HR modules with essential soft skills to prepare emerging professionals to thrive in modern organisations.
Key Program Highlights
- Comprehensive Curriculum: Participants navigated 12 modules covering crucial topics, including:
- Employee Wellness: Prioritising mental health, work-life balance, and self-care.
- Effective Communication: Mastering interpersonal dynamics, active listening, and temperament management.
- Personal Branding: Utilizing frameworks like the 6D Model to optimize professional visibility and LinkedIn presence.
- HR Metrics & Analytics: Leveraging data to forecast workforce trends and guide business decisions.
- Grand Final Masterclass: The final lecture was led by expert facilitator Steven Abby (Director of Operations at Kan Investments Limited, SPHRi, and Chartered HR Practitioner). He delivered a session titled “Positioning HR as a Strategic Business Partner,” emphasising:
- Moving beyond clerical and administrative roles to actively participate in high-level business decision-making.
- Speaking the “language of business”—focusing on revenue, cost reduction, risk management, and return on investment (ROI).
- Balancing organisational goals with employee welfare to foster retention and sustainable growth.
Mentee Recognition & Best Mentee Nominations
Throughout the program, participants actively engaged in peer learning, discussion, and practical application in their respective workplaces. During the final session, peers warmly recognised standout participants for their active participation, clear communication, and valuable contributions:

The official Best Mentee of Cohort 17 will be awarded a full scholarship to pursue the Associate Professional in Human Resources International (aPHRi) certification program with the HR Certification Centre.
Looking Ahead
Graduate activities and upcoming opportunities for Cohort 17 include:
- Final Assessments & E-Certificates: Mentees will complete their final program assessments before receiving their official graduation e-certificates via email.
- National HR Convocation: Cohort 17 will gather in person this December for our annual convocation, featuring speed coaching, networking, and celebration across all 2026 cohorts.
- HR Professional Summit: Mentees have been invited to attend or volunteer at our upcoming summit in November to build their professional networks.
- Continuous Certification: Enrollment for the next professional certification cohort (aPHRi, PHRi, SPHRi) opens December 5.
