Let’s Avoid the Courtroom: Employment and Labour Relations

Prior to the enactment of Act 651 in 2003, the laws governing labour and compliance issues in Ghana were disintegrated into its various legal frameworks. The Act 651 officially consolidated all these labour laws into one comprehensive document. As a result, this has become an eye opener for employers & employees alike, hence the ascendancy of labour issues in the country.

With this, the HR Certification Center identified the critical need for legal expertise in today’s business world. The Center has curated the “Legal Training for HR and Line Managers” short course to bridge the knowledge gap in legal topics.

This course provides attendees with requisite training to handle all legal aspects of people management. It is open to HR and line managers, employee relations officers, compliance & regulatory officers, business owners, entrepreneurs and any individual who manages people.

At the end of the 4-week period, participants will demonstrate:

  1. Deepened understanding of employment and labour relations.
  2. Mastery of the art of Contracting and Termination.
  3. Ability to effectively navigate disciplinary issues.
  4. Understanding of how to guarantee their organizations remain compliant and legally protected.
  5. Ability to ensure legal protection in contractual agreements.

“It’s an important program, even for us practicing HR’s. It’s been an eye opener”, one previous participant shared. Another added, “Personally, I can’t ask for more because I enjoyed every bit of the program”.

Ultimately, this course aims to help you safeguard your organisation from “avoidable risks” on the labour front.
